Misc. Notes
Lillian Lounsberry (Miner) Selleck genealogical investigation mentions many errors in a book titled "Lockwood Genealogy". Lillian reports that there were two Sarah Lockwoods and confusion over which Sarah was married to Michael Lounsberry. She determined through probate records that this Sarah Lockwood, daugther of Edmund Lockwood and Hannah Scott was the one married to her ancestor, Michael Lounsberry. Lillian discovered that the other Sarah Lockwood was the daughter of Ephraim Lockwood and is identified as such in her marriage record to John PLATT, Jr. Furthermore, Lillian notes that the other Sarah would have been about 51 years old when the youngest of Michael Lounsberry's children was born, again evidence that she could not be the Sarah married to Michael.

Lillian notes: "The parentage of Sarah Lockwood, the wife of Michael Lounsberry, is clearly proved by her brother Edmund's will, and unquestionably she is the third (unnamed) daughter mentioned in the record of her father's estate. The "Lockwood Genealogy" errs first in making this Sarah the daughter of Jonathan Lockwood and second in introducing the children of Edmund into the family of Ephraim Lockwood, Jonathan and Ephraim being sons of Robert Lockwood. Since many other genealogical works have been led into error by following these mistakes, a brief summary of the other Lockwood family is appended."
