Nancy Mae (Replogle) Hite, 94, Altoona, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday afternoon.
From Altoona, she was the eighth of 10 children born to William Arthur and Barbara (Hoover) Replogle. In November 1943, she married Glenn Wilbur Hite, a U.S. Air Force mechanic and subsequent owner of the Eldorado Mobil service station, who himself passed away in 1989.*
She is survived by her only child, a son, Richard Glenn Hite and wife, Sandra, of Altoona; a granddaughter, Bethany Joy Kessell and husband, Mike, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and a grandson, Timothy Glenn Hite and wife, Meg, and their children, Noah, Iris and India, all of Cuyahoga Falls.
All nine of her siblings preceded her in death: Marguerite Bowers, Jesse Replogle, Calvin Replogle, Lloyd Replogle, Barbara "Ruth" Olsen, John M. Replogle, Carl Replogle, Robert Replogle and Richard Replogle.
Nancy lived independently until her recent brief illness and very much enjoyed keeping house. For a number of years, she was a volunteer in the speech pathology unit of the Van Zandt VA Medical Center. An avid bingo player, she will be missed by the folks at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Children loved her; she never forgot a name or face. Both family and friends will fondly remember her place in their lives.
Nancy will be interred at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery in Altoona during a private service.
Memorial contributions will be gratefully received by the Metro Parks Foundation, 975 Treaty Line Road, Akron, Ohio 44313, where her grandchildren and their children go regularly to enjoy God's beautiful earth.
