After the war, my dad worked for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, in Mexico, for the eradication of Hoof and Mouth Disease in cattle. Since he had been a "Cowboy" on a ranch in Del Rio, he had the experience (I don't think he completed elementary school). So, he met my mom in Mexico City. Two more incompatible and ill suited for each other couple you could find.

My mom came from an upper socio/encomic class, used to servants, chauffers, cooks, etc. and of course my dad was from a  poor, uneducated background.  Apparently my grandfather was so appalled that my mom wanted to marry a  "Gringo", that he threatened to pay someone a 100-pesos to shoot my dad! My grandfather was an Army officer. Needless to say, we had a not so pleasant childhood, 

Anyway, the first 3 of us were born in Mexico City, the youngest 2 here in Albuquerque. Because my dad was an employee of the Federal Government of the United States, we were automatically given U.S. citizenship.

After the Hoof & Mouth campaign was finished, we moved here.  So, we have lived in Albuquerque all our lives, except for my brothers, Albert and Edward who moved away after they finished their time in the Navy. (Albert came back 3 years ago).

Ed is the one that lives in Poulsbo, Kitsap, WA. My sister Gloria, and youngest brother Glen live here. So to recap, I am the eldest, then Albert, Gloria, Edward, Glen.

Mary has a degree in Dental Hygeine but never practiced.
