Russell was the father of three daughters and one son.
Following the death of his wife Russell gave his girls to other families in Del Rio, TX and kept his son Albert. Russell was a hard, abusive man so Russell left him when he was old enough and was estranged from his father for the rest of his life.
There is a mention of another wife, Bessie, on the info a Hoak relative gave me, but I have no clue on this one. But as far as Russell goes, there is a Missouri connection.

I was looking thru some family history papers and I found that Russell G. Hoak was in the Army as a Sgt. during WWI.
He was in Co. B 3rd Inf.
Ind: 3 (? could be an 8), 9-1917 Ft. Slocum, N.Y.
Dis: 6-4-1920 Washington DC.
Also says he was a veteran of WWI & WWII (?)
This info was on a document labeled "Funeral Record", which contained his funeral information.4889
