Clara, the first child of Charles and Amanda, was named after her aunt, Clara Swearman. Married in 1929, to Dennis (Harry) Knieriem and moved to Johnstown.
Clara and Dennis had three children. Her niece, Karen [Joyce Hook], the author of this work, remembers Aunt Clara's cottage in Bedford Co where her family spent many happy times. She hosted family reunions there. In 1997,
Clara celebrated her 90th birthday with a party for friends and relations. She is an extraordinary lady with energy of a much younger woman. What a dear lady!!
Sadly on July 29, 2000 Clara passed away.
