Abram Hoopengardner [about age 74] left Thursday evening [21 Sep 1916] for the east to see his sister, Mrs. Susan Roos [sic], of Beaver Falls, Pa., who is very ill with cancer of the stomach. He will also visit with his sister, Mrs. Eizabeth McMurry, of Mt. Jackson, Pa. Mr Hoopengrdner will return home early next week.2610

David Gardner [age about 81] left this week [November 1916] for New Galilee, Pa., to visit in the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Hoopengardner. He went especially to see his sisters, Mrs. Susan Ross, of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Mrs. Elizabeth McMurry, of Mt. Jackson, Pa., both of whom are in very poor health.2611
