Joella treated her step children terribly and stories were told by her step-daughter Joann how she’d beat them with a broom and give them a raw potatoe to eat for their school lunches.53

Joella one evening told the family “If I’m gonna die, I’m gonna die right” and took a shot of whiskey. (She’d never drank before). She went to bed and later that night died in her sleep.51
