Leonard Mays

SUN VALLEY, Nev. - Leonard Mays, 70, of Sun Valley, Nev., died Saturday, June 21, at 8:35 p.m. at the Washoe Medical Center in Reno, Nev.

Born May 21, 1916, in New Millport, he was the son of Paul and Jennie (Snyder) Mays.

He was a Lutheran by faith.

Mr. Mays was a retired operating engineer and previously employed by General Dynamics, aerospace division.

He was a member of Operating Engineers, Local No. 3 of Reno, a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a member of Elks Lodge, No. 2397 of Sparks, Nev.

He was also a member of the Alliance Club International and The Landowners Association, both of Sun Valley.

Mr. Mays was a board member for 12 years for the Sun Valley Water and Sanitation District, was a member of the Washie County Park Commission.

He is survived by his wife, the former Maxine Moore, who he married April 18, 1936. in Curwensville; and these brothers and sisters, Lloyd of Curwensville, Lee of Buffalo, N.Y., Mrs. F.K. (Lou) Witherow of State College, Mrs. Albert Leta) Tubbs of Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. Edward (Eleanor) Gill of Glen Richey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bruce and Leslie.

Services will be held at the Chester c. Childboy Funeral Home Inc., Curwensville, Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William F. Norman officiating.

Interment will follow in Bloomington Cemetery.
