Second son of Nicholas Straw Sr., was born in Centre County in 1791, where he always resided. John Nicholas Stroh (Nicvholas Straw, Jr.,) was Christened at the old Dreisbach Church Lewisburg, PA., born 15 Hornung 1791. Sponsored by Heinrich Diehl and wife Rebecca. Heinrich Diehl was a brother of Nicholas Straw, Sr.’s wife. Child was a sone of John Nicholas and Maria Magtsalena Stroh, later known as Nicholas Straw, Sr., and Mary Catherine, his wife. These facts were furnished by Mrs. Lewis E. Theiss, Bucknell University. Copied from the old church records and translated. He was married to Hannah White from Stone Valley, whose birth and death record we cannot trace. A cooper by trade, he lived several years at Shingletown,* where he died. Both are interred at Branch Cemetery. They had five children.5053
