Frederick J. Cutler, 85, of 132 W. Sixth Ave., Clearfield, died Sunday, March 4, at 11:25 a.m. at Clearfield Hospital.
Born June 19, 1898, in Clearfield, he was a son of George and Virginia (Schucker) Cutler.
He had been employed by New York Central Railroad and retired from Clearfield Borough after 17 years of service. He attended West Side United Methodist Church.
Mr. Cutler was first married to the former Ruth Ogden, who preceded him in death. On June 6, 1954, he married the former Edna (Luse) Alexander, who survives with a son, George L. Cutler of Curwensville, and a stepson, Irvin Alexander of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; three grandsons and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, William G. Cutler of Clear field, and four sisters, Helen M. Lingle, Virginia Williams and Ella Erickson, all of Clearfield, and Becky Marshall of Franklin.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.
Services will be held to morrow at 1 p.m. in the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. with Dr. Raymond D. Fravel officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until the hour of services tomorrow.

Although he had been married to his second wife Edna for apparently 29 years, he was buried next to his first wife Ruth.
