Ortie has suffered his entire life from what he saw and how he was raised as a youth. He legally changed his name from Orville to Steven after being released from prison the last time.119

“Ortie” was named after his uncle Orville and spent about twenty years in a Maryland state penitentiary for rape. He was later reincarcerated for an unknown offense and was in prison in Tennessee [2011].124

“Ortie” had been out of prison for a while (after his sentence for rape) and was working at a grocery store in Maryland. At the time he was dating a girl who eventually left him. This was in about 1999-2000. Sometime after that he was back in prison in Tennessee.

The state of New York had been after Ortie as the apparent driver of the car in which his half brother [my first cousin] Danny Lines was killed in an accident [in which it struck a tree in November of 1983]. Drinking was involved. Ortie was injured but left the hospital before police could take him in to custody. When Ortie was about fifteen he stayed for a while at his cousin Wilbur Lines Jr.’s home.33

Ortie has always denied he was the driver of the car in which his half brother Danny was killed and suffers because of the accusations of Danny’s siblings and their dislike for him.119

An Orville Lines of Clearfield is listed as an admission on June 4, 1969 at the Clearfield Hospital, and discharged on June 8.817

Ortie is doing well, except he suffers from alcoholism and his youth still plaques him.119

Steve is a supervisor at a scrap yard and works 6-7 days or 50-60 hours a week. He dispatches trucks and runs heavy machinery. He owns his own home.818
