Relatives here received word of the death of Henry Behrend, of Sheldon, North Dakota, Monday May 20th. The body is being brought to Winterset for burial, and they will arrive in Des Moines Wednesday evening. The full plans have not yet been made.

Mr. Behrend is an old resident of Lincoln township. Mrs. Behrend preceded him in death about twenty years ago.

Henry Behrend

Henry Behrend was born November 13, 1860, at Waterford, Wisconsin, and died May 19, 1929, at his home in Sheldon, North Dakota, at the age of 68 years. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Rex, in August, 1883, at Lake City. She passed away from this life, May 25, 1907. to this union were born seven children, six of whom survive, one daughter, Jane, having died in October, 1923.

Mr. Behrend was a resident of near Winterset for ten years moving here from Lake City in 1900, then moving to North Dakota in 1910, where he resided until his death.

The body was brought here by his children, Minnie and John, to be laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Fellowship Cemetery, southwest of town. Rev. John T. Hall, Pastor of the Baptist Church conducted brief services at the Tidrick Funeral Home and at the cemetery, Thursday afternoon.6502
