Obituary

Ralph Kenneth Bloom, age 80, of Berkeley Springs, WV died Monday, December 3, 2012 at War Memorial Hospital.

Born January 13, 1932 in Slanesville, WV, he was the son of the late Kester Dent and Gertrude Lydia Snyder Bloom.

He was a gratuate of Capon Bridge High School, Hampshire County, class of 1949. Ralph had worked for the Senior Life Services in Berkeley Springs as a van driver for a number of years. He was also retired from Leon Close Construction. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Laura Alice Smith Bloom, one daughter, Angel D. Bloom, Berkeley Springs, WV, two sons, Barry Bloom, Hagerstown, MD, Leslie Bloom, Los Angeles, Cal. one sister, Eileen Caylor, Leesburg, VA, one brother, Kester Dent Bloom, Slanesville, WV, one granddaughter, Codi Lane McJilton, and one step-grandson, Daniel McJilton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December, 6, 2012 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411 with Pastor Steve Dawson officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends the funeral home will be open from Noon-8 PM.
