DEATH OF MRS. MARTHA E. QUIGLEY.
Mrs. Martha E. Quigley whose death was announced last week was born in Northumberland Jan. 14, 1844, died Nov. 19, 1897.
Her maiden name was Martha Kohler. When six years of age she with her parents came to Jersey Shore, where she since resided. In 1860 she was married to Joseph Antes and was the mother of eight children, five of whom are living, Charles, Katie, Joseph Brenneman, Mrs. Mazie Henninger of Milton, and Maggie.
The father served in the late war. His death took place in 1884. In 1885 she married Mr. Quigley. Three of the children were placed in the Soldiers Orphanage at Chester Springs, and are today industrious, upright, young people, and while they mourn the loss of a mother who always did according to her ability, what was best for children. They are comforted in the thought that she is where the "Weary are forever at rest," she having passed away, her hand clasped in that of a christian neighbor who sang and prayed with her to the last.
The family wish to extend thanks to all who kindly ministered to the last wants of the deceased.
The family was often remembered by Mr. John Wanamaker who is a cousin.
