A photo aerial view of Curry Run taken in 1981 includes the home of Josephine Saxe built by George Passmore in 1870.3901

George Passmore purchased two town lots, (16 and 17), and built a home on lot 16 in 1870. Today this house is owned by Jim Saxe and was the home of his mother Josephine. This was also the last site of the Curry Run Post Office.3786

The last postmaster to serve the Curry Run office was Belle Derrick. The last postal site was at her home where she had a small addition added on to the side of the house. She opened a small store and the post office from this site until the closing of the office on September 15, 1932. Postal service was then removed to the Mahaffey Post Office where it remains to this day [2010]. The Belle Derrick postal site is the former George and Josephine Saxe residence now owned by their son Jim.5862

The Curry Run annual picnic, “to bring the community together for a day of good fellowship, good food, and reminiscing” started in Sep of 1987 with 55 people attending. It must be noted that she had 5 adult children also attending who were: Esther Derrick, Josephine Saxe, Nellie Clyde, Louise Heaps, and Bill Lines.
