Obituary
Regis W. "Bucky" Veihdeffer, 78 of Hyde, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at his residence.
Born on August 26, 1931 in Hyde, PA, he was the son of Fred and Virginia (Shurbert) Veihdeffer.
Mr. Veihdeffer retired from Penelec in 1994, where had been employed as an electrical technician for thirty years.
He was Catholic by Faith. Mr. Veihdeffer enjoyed flying. He had been a commercial pilot since 1965.
Mr. Veihdeffer was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Era.
He is survived by his wife, Louise (Gearhart) Veihdeffer, whom he married on December 6, 1952; three children: Rick Veihdeffer and his wife Susan of Curwensville, PA, Vicki Stephens and her husband Lester "Bud" of Curwensville, PA and Nick Veihdeffer and his wife Jamie of Hyde, PA; six grandchildren: Bruce Stephens, April Stephens, Ashley Veihdeffer, Kyle Veihdeffer, Andrea Veihdeffer and Nicholas Veihdeffer; one brother, Robert Veihdeffer and his wife Donna of Hyde, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Veihdeffer is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Kenneth, Leonard, Charles, James and Howard Veihdeffer; and two sisters: Elizabeth Haversack and Katherine Hertzog.
At the request of Mr. Veihdeffer, there will be no public visitation or services. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, PA.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 or the Clearfield Foundation for Health-Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield, PA 16830.
