Roland Bloom was born on November 3, 1894 at Olanta, Pennsylvania. After the U.S. entered the Great War, Roland was inducted into the Army on September 19, 1917. He was sent to Camp Gordon, Georgia for training and was assigned to C Battery, 319th Field Artillery which was part of the 82nd Division.
While in France, Roland was involved [in] the the battles of St. Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He returned to the States and was discharged at Camp Dix, NJ on February 17, 1919. May we never forget.
