Misc. Notes
The business matters concerning the Greenwood Township School District were as varied and sensitive as today [2010]. One such matter consisted of an inquiry into the suspension of Ezra Johnston, Orvis Mitchell, and Dorsey Sawyer for indecent conduct at school in 1895. After hearing the evidence, the board voted 3 to 2 to suspend the boys for the rest of the school term.5309

A Frank and Mary Sawyer were among couples who were early settlers within the Curry Run, PA area. In 1874 they purchased lot number 18 in the layout of the village of Lewisville (now Curry Run). Frank erected a house and a small blacksmith shop which he operated until 1925 when he passed away. In 1886 Frank and Masry purchased another lot within the town platting. This lot was number 23 and was located just northwest of their original plot with a common connecting power post. Frank did substantial business with Frampton Bell of Bells Landing.5310
Could this have been Dorsey Franklin Sawyer’s parents?3

[A] business to oiperate in the area was the lime mine that Ben Mott operated for several years… Mr. Mott married the daughter of Frank Sawyer and lived on the curve at the bottom of the hill in Curry Run. Mr. Mott operated the lime mine in the early 1930s and the stone kiln can still be seen today. Bill Lines and Mirl Johnston remembered helping with the fire and shoveling the lime into a shed for Mr. Mott.1394
Are “Frank” Sawyer and “Dorsey Franklin” one and the same?3
