Mary E. Passmore, obituary as seen in he Clearfield Progress

CURWENSVILLE-- Mary E. Passmore, 95, of Curwensville R.D. and a guest at the Lane Avenue Personal Health Care Center, Punxsutawney, died Saturday Jan. 19, 1991, at the home.
She was a Protestant by faith and belonged to the Cherry Corner Community Church. She was a former member of the Rebecca and Pocahontas Lodges.
She was born May 11, 1895, in Greenwood township, the daughter of Joseph A. and Isabelle C. (Nolen) Passmore, who preceded her in death along with two sisters and seven brothers.
She is survived by one son, Harry Passmore of Punxsutawney, and one daughter Aleene Hellier of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Lina Young of Mahaffey; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm from the T.G. McCracken Funeral Home Mahaffey, with the Rev. George Solley and Rev. Albert cooper officiating.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday until time of services. Interment will follow in the La Jose Cemetery.
The family suggests donations be made to the Cherry Corner Community Church.

In the late 70's Grandma Mary Passmore and her brother Frank had part of the land stripped for coal and then reclaimed so the landscaping did change a bit. For years, Grandma, Frank and Martin(died in 1972) farmed the land and operated a small dairy farm. I lived there on and off with them - the three of them never married.
My Grandma was the last of the three to pass away, so my mother got a piece of property above the house called the "upper place." and my Uncle Harry inherited the homestead and left it to the boys.
