I am also researching my grandfather. His birth village was Jankowce Poland, or Ukraine, or Russia, or Austria, or Hungary. This village is about a mile from Lesko, Poland. This makes him a Ruthenian. The joke is a Ruthenian says he has lived in five countries without having left his home!
Which some how reminds me that another Bloom researcher has a story of a gentile hiding little Ann Bloom [?] from the Nazis. Dad had said there were Jews in the ancestry. I believe my grandfather was a Jew as well but need evidence.5219

About my name: I used Stephanie until I was 32 years old and needed to get a driver's license. When I ordered my birth certificate, it came back with the spelling Stefanie. But since my Mother died when I was 18 months old, they took my Aunt's spelling. So legally I use the longer version and casually I prefer my Mom's spelling.5230
