Thompson - James S., 91, of Highstown, N.J., on July 20, 1979. President of McGraw-Hill Book Co. from 1944-1949. Husband of the late Marie Burnham Thompson and the late Doris Taylor Thompson. Father of James S. Thompson, Jr., of La Jolla, Calif.
Also survived are 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Weds., Aug. 1, 1979 at 11am at the Niles Chapel of the Nassau Presbyterian Church, Nassau St., Princeton, N.J. Memorials may be made to one's own charity.
