MRS. ADDA PARKS

Mrs. Adda Peters Parks was found dead in bed at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Shuemaker of Lawrence Township at noon, April 29. Death was caused by a dilation of the heart.

Born in DuBois on December ?, 1879 she was a daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Ross Peters. Moving from DuBois shortly after her birth, the deceased spent most of her life in and around Woodland. At the time of her death she was aged 65 years, 4 months and 20 days.

On December 20, 1899 she was united in marriage to William A. Parks and to this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive: Vada, wife of William Ogden of Hyde; Chester of Cleveland, Ohio; Charles of West Decatur; Robert with the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific; Lenora, wife of Chalmer Buck, Wilma, wife of Calvin Shuemaker and Marie, wife of Jessie Henchbarger all of Clearfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died November 15, 1934 and one son, Marl, who was killed in action in France last July. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and the following sister and brothers: Ralph Peters, Philipsburg: Jacob Peters, Wallaceton; Howard and Charles Peters of Clearfield; Earl and Clyde Peters of Mineral Springs and Mrs. Bessie Shugarts of Mt. Union.

Funeral services for the deceased were held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chalmer Buck on Thursday, May 3, with the Rev. W. F. Lias and Rev. H. F. Gauntt, officiating. Burial was made in the Bradford cemetery.
