The caption states the bank was fist organized in 1864 and existed until 1904 when it became the Curwensville National Bank. In 1945, it merged with Curwensville State Bank, which later was known as CSB. CSB was recently [2007] sold to Northwest Savings Bank, ending the tradition of a hometown bank.1780

During the summer of 1944, the Clearfield Cheese Company bought the C. Seymour Russell property at the upper end of State Street with the idea that the property could be renovated and made into a Youth Center. It became the Curwensville Civic Center.4488
