Misc. Notes
William Reeves Wilkinson was likely the first of three sons born to William Wilkinson (c.1793-after 1860) and his first wife Lucy Reeves (1790s-1820).
William apparently was living with his two brothers in Mecklenburg Co. [NC] in 1840, and there he married Mary Amanda DeWeese in 1841.
Around 1845, they moved to Marion, McDowell County, NC, where William was listed on the 1850 census as a boot maker, with an apprentice shoemaker living in his household.
After Mary Amanda's death, William apparently returned to Mecklenburg County, where he married her younger sister, Nancy Adeline DeWeese in 1852. They had three daughters, all born in South Carolina.
By 1860, William had apparently died, and Nancy Adeline was living in Gaston Co., NC. I presume William died in Lancaster Co., SC, as that is where his father was living in 1860.
==========
William and Mary Amanda were married in Mecklenburg County, NC, where the DeWeese family was from, in 1841, but moved to McDowell County, NC around 1845.
After Mary Amanda's death, William went back to Mecklenburg, and married her younger sister, Nancy Adeline DeWeese (1827-1862).
The family lived in South Carolina for a time. William Wilkinson apparently died before 1860, and his widow Nancy, and 8 children, along with their Nancy's widowed mother, Margaret Boyd Irvin DeWeese, were living at Mountain Island, Gaston Co., NC in 1860.
The Wilkinsons were presumably Scottish.
