George lived the last years of his life in LaJose, Pennsylvania, retiring from Lumber City Brick Plant in 1955 where he had worked for many years. He died of a heart attack.
While George and Mary [Meckley] were married, a Mr. Taylor was boarding at their home. Mr. Taylor left the home moving to Pittsburgh and a short time later Mary left and joined Mr. Taylor. This lead to a divorce action between George and Mary. Date of these actions are unknown and were verbally passed to Better Mill who is the source of this note. A conversation with Pearl Meckley (Mary’s sister-in-law) reveals that Mary most probably married Mr. Taylor.
George worked at the Lumber City brickyard but became ill and was off for about six month. As a result, helost his job but was hired back in 1933 and the family moved into a “company” rental house in Lumber City.
