John laid out the town of Selinsgrove, PA [?]. When he died Anthony Selin bought the property and laid out a new town called Selin's Grove. Anthony was married to a sister of Simon and John Snyder.

The marriage of Anthony Selin mentioned above is verified in details written by George Antes Snyder (1799), the son of John’s brother Simon. [Simon Snyder was Governor of the state of Pennsylvania from 1808 to 1817 and Snyder County, PA is named in his memory.]
After his death John’s widow moved to Lancaster, with her children. She afterwards married Jacob Kendig, who lived a mile from Selinsgrove, up the road to Sunbury. 3271
