Robert Thomas Streets
Robert Thomas Streets, 63, of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Saturday, October 16, 2004, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 7, 1941, in Mineral County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William and Gertrude Hoopengardner Streets.
He was retired after 33 years of service as a machinist from Mack Trucks, where he also served as Union Steward. Mr. Streets had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 33 Scout Dog Infantry and received the Purple Heart. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved traveling with his family. He was a graduate of Elk Garden High School.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Hogbin Streets; three sons, Dennis Streets of Hedgesville, W.Va., Lorne and Williams Streets of Martinsburg; a stepson, Chris Houck, of Martinsburg; two daughters, Loralee Haines of Keyser and Lora Hilliard of Martinsburg; a stepdaughter, Amanda Lowitz of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; a proud grandfather looking forward to the birth of three additional grandchildren; one brother, James H. Streets of Martinsburg; and two sisters, Florence Wright of Alliance, Ohio, and Betty Cox of Keyser.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis E. Jackman, MD officiating. Military graveside services will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery. 247
