Original source identified him as “J. Louis.” He and his uncle Lewis Hoopengardner (b. 1808) both died on the same day? This is probably inaccurate due to the similar spelling of each of their names.
In addition I have some concern with these two individuals as both of them have wives with similar names and the year in which both of them died (1900). Could there be some mix-up here and in-fact these are one and the same individuals?
I have corrected the spelling of Lewis’ name to coincide with the several mentions of the same individual with the same spelling found at this source, which does not include the first initial “J”.2624,3
