Mrs. JW  Cummitt, son Forest, and daughter, Naomi, and Mrs. Will Hoopengardner, daughter Gretchen, and Mrs. Nora Earl left this morning for an outing at Lake George. They expect to be gone for a week or so.2793

The “Will Hoopengardner” mentioned above is Gretchen’s uncle, per the newspaper article announcing her and husband Ned’s wedding, also found in this record.3

Green-Hoopingardner

A wedding of interest took place last evening at 8:30 o’clock at the United Brethren parsonage at Ossian when Miss Gretchen Hoopingardner, of Ossian, and Mr. Ned Green, of this city, were united in marriage.

The bride made her home with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. William Hoopengardner, and has for the last several years acted as substitute teacher for Jefferson Township.

The groom is employed at the Lincoln National Bank of this city.
