McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania Newspaper - Obituary of Mrs. Arminda Garland
Mrs. Arminda Garland died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Creek, in Hancock, Maryland, Sept 22, 1912, at aged 74 years and 12 days.
She was the widow of Ephraim Garland, of Union Twp., who died some twenty years ago, and is survived by the following children: Mrs. Emma Fegley, of Dott; Mrs. W. E. True, of Cumberland, Maryland; Mrs. G. W. Catlett, Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; Miss Annie Garland Altoona, Mrs. J. W. Creek, Hancock, Maryland; Denton O., George H., and William, all of Tiffin, Ohio. David and Simon Garland, of Whips Cove, are step sons. In addition to these sons and daughters, she leaves twenty-five grand children and four great grand children.
Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining Cedar Grove Christian Church, Sept 24. Services were conducted by Rev. Powers, of Needmore.
She united with the Christian church in Whips Cove, when but a young woman, and the impression of her ideal Christian life is indelibly stamped upon her numerous posterity.2689
