Died in Lawrence Township, on Monday the 18th instant, after a lingering illness, Sarah, daughter of Samuel and Ellen Jordan, aged about 11 years. [Jul 1853] 2327

The house of Mr. Samuel Jordan, about a mile above town, was struck by lightning on Wednesday last. The family were in the house at the time, but no one was injured; nor was any damage done the house further than the shattering of one or two weather boards. [Sep 1854] 2328

Died in Jordan township on Friday the 13th inst., [Aug 1858] of dysentery, Mrs. Nancy Jordan consort of Samuel Jordan, in the 68th year of her age. [Are any of these noted newspaper mentions the same Samuel?] 2329
