Charles was a volunteer at the Clearfield Fire Department.

Charlie was one of the best drillers for blasting operations and worked all over the country. Sometime, probably in the 1980s, Charlie was severly beaten with a baseball bat or a 2 by 4 at his aunt Carol’s bar in Coalville, PA. The perpetrator went to prison fo the assault and Charles suffered intestinal problems for years following.
He was once hospitalized for three months in Pittsburgh for an intestinal blockage due to scar tissue. He had been beaten with a 2x4. His attacker later went to prison for the beating. And later when suffering from an infection was again hospitalized in State College, PA where he underwent surgery but died a month later and just fourteen months after his father’s death. He’s probably buried at the Bigler Cemetery.47
