William moved to the Canandaigua [currently Ontario County, NY] area in the 1790s, and is buried there. 1472

William was close to John Henry [his brother], was a noted gunmaker, and lived in the Nippenose Valley for a while near John Henry, before moving up to the Canandaigua New York area, to manage property that John Henry and he had there. He died and was buried in Canandaigua. 1473

In reference to John Henry Antes, the third son of Henry Antes, born 5 Ocotber 1736: "When Genesee County, New York, opened to settlers, in company with his brother William he acquired land grants there, tracts of fertile land that afterwards proved very profitable holdings. Leaving his brother to secure his rights he returned to his home on the Susquehanna, nearly opposite the mouth of Pine Creek and near the outlet of Major (Jacob) Antes Gap."

This would explain the connection between the Pennsylvania and New York Anteses. 1475
