Lived in Tewksbury, MA, Centreville, Michigan, and Lowell MA. In 1854 he removed to Le Grand Township, Marshall County, IA to give his children educational advantages. He thereafter moved to Grinnell, IA.
Worcester came to Iowa in an early day, settling in Marshall county, whence he afterward removed to Grinnell. He was a cousin of the compiler of Worcester’s dictionary.*

*Worcester’s Dictionary was compiled by Joseph Emerson Worcester. Joseph (Aug 24, 1784 - Oct 27, 1865) who was a lexicographer born in Bedford, New Hampshire. Second son of Jesse & Sarah (Parker) Worcester and a nephew of Noah & Samuel Worcester.
Nathaniel Hawthorne the author of “Red Badge of Courage” was one of his students in Salem, Mass. SEE Noah - Samuel Worcester & Edwin Dean Worcester also Samuel Austin Worcester - all descendants of Rev. William Worcester who emigrated from England and was 1st Pastor of the Church at Salisbury, Mass. established in 1638.
