Elliott invented and patented the desk top paper spindle. A thin, sharp-pointed vertical rod for impaling papers on and often seen on desks in the early to mid 1900s. He “made a lot of money.” His family had a horse and buggy, a surrey with four horses. His wife lived a life of luxury following his death.
