I discovered Terry’s FindaGrave Memorial in the early morning hours of 5 September 2016 and immediately wrote the following note, via the web site, to Janet Smith who manages Terry’s memorial.

Hello Janet,

I just discovered the memorial #151053821 for Terry Lines, which you manage. You can't imagine the emotions I felt in seeing his headstone as I have tried on and off for many years to learn more about Terry. He is my half-brother. I have no doubts, with the headstone inscription, "Inf Son of Myrtle and Richard" that this Terry is the correct one.

I've known very little about him. I know his mother was Myrtle Barnhart (I have what is purported to be a photo of her) and that Terry was born and died of pneumonia when my father Richard Delmont Lines (Memorial #59752673) was in the military.

I was told, my father never got to see Terry, as he was away serving in the Army during World War II. My father died at age 31, when I was but two years old in 1955, so all I've ever known about Terry were the few things I was told by my father's siblings, who also never saw him.

My father in May of 1944 was stationed at Camp Breckinridge, KY in Morganfield. I see that Morganfield is just 63-miles from where Terry is buried. Those are all the facts I'm aware of that link me to him.

Against all hope, as I see you manage several thousand memorials, I wonder if you might be related to Terry? If you are, of course I'd love to learn more about him and Myrtle's family.

If not, I wonder if you would be willing to transfer management of his memorial to me? My Contributor number is: 47064561.

I will look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Sincerely,

Rick Gleason3
