____________
Supervisors Edward Dixon, Cyrus Robinson and Clark Goss, of Boggs Township, gave bail in the sum of $300 each before Squire John yesterday to guarantee their appearances in criminal court at February term to answer the charge that they have not been keeping the roads of the township in repair.
The information upon which the supervisors were arrested was made by Mrs. Helen [?] McGaughey, wife of Robert McGaughey, of Clearfield Bridge, near Stoneville. It will be remembered that several weeks ago Andrew McGaughey, son of the prosecutrix, received a fractured skull and other serious injuries when the automobile in which he was riding skidded off the road in Boggs township and went down over the bank. The young man is yet a patient at the Clearfield Hospital.
The accident occurred
on the road along the creek leading toward Litz Bridge and Mrs. McGaughey’s charges was due and chargeable to the fact that the supervisors had failed or neglected to place guard rails along side this road which is considered quite dangerous for it’s entire length.
The accident to young McGaughey happened handy the spot where John Dimeling, Kazary Murray [name is difficult to read] and Curt Wentz went down over the bank in Mr. Dimeling’s car several years ago. The chief calamity [?] of this trio at that time was the compound fracture of Wentz’s wooden leg.
1176NOTE: Andrew would some 43 years later be killed in the same Litz Bridge area in another auto accident. See narrative below.
3____________
Mr. McGaughey was a passenger in a car driven by Jack D. Wise,* 41, of West Decatur R.D., which collided with the car operated by Robert Rishel of Clearfield on Route 17033 [difficult to read]
near Litz Bridge area at 6:30 p.m.
He died about four hours later while being transferred to the Pittsburgh Hospital by ambulance.
State police said Mr. Wise was to the left of the center lane when he saw the Rishel car approaching in the opposite direction. The collision happened when Mr. Rishel went to the left to avoid the other car and at the same time Mr. Wise pulled back to the right lane.
Damage in the accident was estimated at $700.
[The other driver was identified in this article as Robert W. Rishel, 29 of 1017 Linden St., Clearfield. He suffered cuts of ear, nose and chin and a back injury and was reported in satisfactory condition. Andrews middle initial was also identified in this source]

Misc. Notes
In February 1956 Andrew and his wife Helen were living in a two-dwelling house with their widowed daughter Barbara and her 14-month old daughter Maxine. Also in the home were the family of Robert D. and Joyce (Hull) Wise. The home, that overlooked the Dimeling Bridge,* in Clearfield County, PA tragically, and without warning, caught fire killing the Wise’s two-year old daughter Patrica Jean. Helen McGaughey wore a size 44 dress and size 9 shoes. Andrew wore a size 16 shirt, 34-30 trousers, size 38-40 coat and size 8 shoes.
59It’s probable that the McGaugheys and the Hulls, mentioned above, were related, but I’m not sure how. In addition Barbara’s father Andrew was killed in an auto accident in a car driven by a Jack Wise. I believe I once heard that Barbara McGaughey and Joyce and sister Joanne Hull were cousins, but I am unable to find any connection between the families.
3*The Dimeling Bridge is located on Highway 153 east of Curwensville, PA.
