Obituary

LANCASTER -- Maxine Lines Yednak, 49, of Lancaster and formerly of Clearfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Lancashire Hall* in Lancaster.

She was born Nov. 28, 1954, in Clearfield.

She is survived by her husband, George Yednak of Clearfield; her father, George Smeal of Bainbridge; a daughter, Susan Frye, of Bainbridge; brothers, Russell Smeal of Bainbridge; Clayton Smeal of Lusby, MD and Dustin Smeal of Hemet, Calif,; and sister Sandra Lynch of New Castle, Del.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara D. Smeal and a brother, Rock Smeal.

A memorial service will be held at the Stevens Hill Community Church of the Brethren, Turnpike Road, Elizabethtown, Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Cremation arrangements are being made by Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Harrisburg.811

Named after her father’s sister Maxine Jane Lines. Maxine used the maiden name Smeal, but I’m not sure she was actually adopted by her step-father George Smeal.812

Maxine, when fourteen months old, was living with her widowed mother and her grandparents the McGaughey’s, along with Robert D. and Joyce Hull Wise in a two-dwelling house. The home located in Dimeling†, Clearfield, PA caught fire in February 1956 killing Patricia the two-year old daughter of Robert & Joyce.59
