Misc. Notes
Florence grew up in Curwensville, PA until 1935 when at age 14 family moved to Cleveland suburb of Parma, OH.237

Florence told her first cousin Richard Lee Gleason in January 1993 that she never knew as a youth that she was related to the "Pattons." She said that she in fact didn't know anything about the Pattons except that there was a large monument in the Clearfield cemetery with their name on it. Richard and other family members always knew her as “Sis” however her husband and children never called her by that name. Florence is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).360

Florence had for years been diagnosed with Diabetes but later learned she never had it.179

Florence, like several others in the family suffered from Macular Degeneration which usually affects older adults that results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field. It is a major cause of visual impairment in older adults. Macular degeneration can make it difficult or impossible to read or recognize faces, although enough peripheral vision remains to allow other activities of daily life.108
